Rock n' Roll

The Nashville Sounds were the Brewers AAA affiliate from 2005 until 2014.  Most players on the current roster played for a stint here.  With the music theme, they also had some of the coolest hats and will continue to be featured on this site.  This alternate hat though, the ball player with the guitar bat is the best.  On the Brewers day off we are going with a rock n' roll theme: a. The Brewers had a big win yesterday  b. The nfl draft is today, which is rock star for another wisconsin team c. It is derby weekend

April Showers Bring....

At 4 and 17, we have endured one heck of a cold storm.  Right now we are on pace to break the mlb record for losses in a season.  Maybe if we have a record breakingly good May, we can be an average 500 team again.  This winter hat is to symbolize the cold, cold April.

Shuckers

The Biloxi Shuckers, the new Brewers AA affiliate, are currently in first place and have the best overall record in the Southern League.  This is no accident as the Brewers system has a lot of great talent in High A and AA ball.  The good news is there is some talent, the bad news is with a fairly depleted AAA roster, this help is 2 to 3 years out at the big league level. I wanted to start this Monday with a first place team at some level.

Race Day Hat

When I run races in Chicago, I like to wear Brewers gear to show off my Brewer pride, or in times like this when there isn't a lot of pride I. The ball club, my pride in being from Wisconsin and Milwaukee.  Here's my hat from the Ravenswood 5k, it was a little chilly this morning.

Made at Home Hats

The Brewers undoubtedly had one of the coolest logos in all of sport.  As a result, their emblem is often replicated at home.  All it takes is a trip to a Milwaukee dive bar in Bayview or the Eastside to see some cool home made stuff.  Likewise, if you were a kid Born in the 70s and your mom liked to sew, I bet she made you something brewers, whether it be pj's, a book bag or something else.

Friday home Games

This hat has become the Friday night on field hat, which is the 'official' throwback to the 78 to 93 logo.  Nowdays, on Fridays, the Brewers starting pitcher gets to name the hat and uniform.  Thanks to Matt Garza, they actually aren't wearing this one tonight, however, most Fridays they will. Since my connection is weak in the satdium, as I learned on Wednesday, this post is from the bar beforehand.

Night at the Ballpark (hat 2)

This one is my dad's that he was wearing sitting next to me.  It is a time warner cable free handout at the ballpark, at least 10 years old though we were unable to pinpoint the date.

This featured hat the Brewers wore on certain home Sundays circa 2005/2006.  I like the logo with the Wisconsin backdrop and wish they would have wore this more moving forward.

Patriot Day

Yesterday was Patriot Day where the Boston Marathon was run and the Red Sox played a day game.  Unfortunately I didn't realize until I already had posted.  One day belated, featured is the current on field Brewers Hat with the 9/11 flag patch on the side.

Uniform Contest

In 2013, the Brewers had a uniform contest where fans could submit their ideas for an alternate uniform.  There were four finalists, and the winner had their uniform worn by the team in the final preseason game where the Whitesox played the Brewers at Miller Park.  These are the hats from that uniform.  In honor of 4/20, thought I'd put up a funky one.

This was the road hat from 1978 to 1993.  My personal favorite.

Cream City Crew

Milwaukee has been nicknamed the cream city.  This has nothing to do with Wisconsin's dairy products or some type of cream stout, but rather with the cream brick native to the city used in much of its early architecture.  This featured hat is cream in color to celebrate the brewers roots in cream city.

Brewers ASG

This hat is very close to the one shown yesterday  (might have been a 2 for 1 deal), however it has the patch from the 1975 All-Star Game.  When County Stadium hosted in 1975, it is the only time Milwaukee had hosted as an American League Host.

The Original Brewers Hat

This was the hat from the Brewers inception in Milwaukee in 1970 until 1977.  My birth came right at the end of this being the official hat.

Jackie Robinson Day

Happy Jackie Robinson day all!  Today's hat is that of the milwaukee bears.  In 1923, they played in the negro league in Milwaukee.

Pour one out for the Huntsville Stars

From 1999 until 2014, the now defunct Huntsville stars of the South League were the Brewers AA affiliate.  Until their relocation to Biloxi this spring, they had the longest tenure of any of the Brewers minor league affiliates.  Here is their classic hat.
